Lot #134606
This 1967 Jaguar 420 was acquired by the owner in 1995 and is powered by a 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six and three-speed automatic transmission. The car is finished in silver over black leather, and additional equipment includes 15″ wire-spoke wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, dual SU carburetors, burl wood trim, air conditioning, and an aftermarket head unit. Service in anticipation of the sale is said to have consisted of servicing the air conditioning system, rebuilding the carburetors, and replacing the battery, ignition coil, and spark plugs. This 420 is now offered at no reserve on behalf of the owner with service records, a tool kit, owner’s and repair manuals, literature, and a clean California title in the name of the owner’s trust.
The body has been refinished in silver and brightwork includes the grille, a hood leaper mascot, quad headlamp bezels, fender-mounted mirrors, window surrounds, door trim, dual exhaust outlets, and wraparound bumpers with overriders. Chipped paint on the edges of the hood and doors are visible.
Chrome 15″ wheels with stainless steel spokes are secured by two-eared knockoffs and mounted with older 185-series Avon Radial Steel tires. The spare is stowed in the trunk. The car is equipped with independent suspension, power steering, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes.
The cabin features black leather seats complemented by a matching dashpad and carpeting. Amenities include air conditioning, a heater and defroster, a lockable glove compartment, a clock, door pockets, folding center armrests, and an aftermarket EPI head unit. The R12 air conditioning system was said to be serviced.
Smiths instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The ammeter is by Lucas. The five-digit odometer shows 45k miles, approximately 10k of which were added under current ownership.
The 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six was rated at 245 horsepower when new and is equipped with dual SU HD8 carburetors. Service in anticipation of the sale is said to have consisted of rebuilding the carburetors, cleaning the fuel system, and replacing the battery, ignition coil, and spark plugs. Oil leaks are noted from the engine.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a column-shifted Borg Warner Model 8 three-speed automatic transmission.
A tool kit is included in the sale along with a selection of service records, owner’s and repair manuals, and literature.

Car returns to BaT
bringatrailer.com/listing/1967-jaguar-420-10-2/
Auction description:
Lot #139456
The car was ordered in Opalescent Silver Blue and has been repainted. Brightwork includes the grille, a hood leaper mascot, quad headlamp bezels, fender-mounted mirrors, window surrounds, door trim, dual exhaust outlets, and wraparound bumpers with overriders. Chipped paint on the edges of the hood and doors is shown up close in the gallery below.
This is a relist after the car was previously sold on BaT in January 2024 and the winner was unable to take delivery of the car due to circumstances beyond their control. This was not caused by any fault with the vehicle, and the winner’s account has not been restricted. The winner asked the seller to again represent the car for them in the same location, as delivery did not take place and the title was not signed over to the winner.
Otherwise same as above BaT description
