Nice 1965 Jaguar S-type 3.8 saloon
Metallic grey with red interior
Just two owners the last 34 years
Upgraded for modern use
Much as we all love classic cars, they are not always ideally suited for regular use in modern traffic. Hence the owner of 27 years set about making his Jaguar S-type 3.8 saloon a modern, reliable daily driver that retained its aesthetic charm. Purchased with 11,000 miles on the clock and sold with 42,888 miles indicated, it is now showing 43,800 miles seven years later in the hands of the vendor. Freshening by the previous owner included new rings and bearings, and pistons were installed that raised the compression ratio to 9:1, along with electronic ignition. A modern radiator core and thermo fan were added, the original generator was replaced with an alternator, there’s upgraded rear disc brakes from a Series 3 V12, Cooper Craft front brake discs and calipers, and the steering box replaced with a rack and pinion system. All under bonnet wiring was heat-shielded. Inside, the interior was retrimmed in red leather and inertia seatbelts fitted, as was an AM/FM radio. Finally, wire-spoked wheels replaced the original steel rims. Recent work has included a new electronic fuel pump. Finished in stylish metallic grey with contrasting red leather, this is a smart looking car that also conveys its authentic period charm. It comes with its original tools and jack, original Jaguar umbrella, two sets of keys, and 3.4 and 3.8 operating manuals and service books, plus a new Jaguar bonnet logo (yet to be fitted). Previously on Victorian club registration, this 3.8 S-type is being offered for sale here unregistered.
