Ebay item 1/24/09 cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Opening bid £3,000 reserve not met, no bids yet 6 days left in auction. 49k miles.
Sellers description:
1964 Jaguar MK 2, 240 Manual/O/D 49,713 Miles Born Jan 1st 1964 One Lady Owner, Prior to me, (purchase invoice available) MOT Nov 2009
Tax Free FAS 218 Number Plate
The lady last taxed the vehicle in 1995(This disc available)
It has been stored since then under cover in a farm barn.
I bought it in April 06 with the usual intention of restoration. Kept in garage since.
I am retired, thought this was a good idea until the funds dried up from a business income and I had to put the toys down.
Unfortunately the previous lady owner never saved any MOT certificates or any service details but I was assured by her son that the mileage is genuine.
I had spent £1800 to get the MOT and roadworthy aspect right at my normal garage engineers workshop.
As for values, looking in classic guides I would describe it as condition 2. Engine runs smoothly, gearbox good, interior needs TLC, and bodywork does also want work. The numberplate FAS 218 goes with the car.

Car now offered at:
www.carandclassic.co.uk/auctions/1964-jaguar-mkii-gOQjV4
Auction description:
1964 Jaguar MK II
Colour Green
Odometer 62,454 Miles
Engine size 2483
Location Wales, previously Lincolnshire
Country United Kingdom
・Low Miles – Averaging only 1,000 Miles a Year
・Respray in British Racing Green
・Re-wooded and Upholstered Interior
The current owner has had this vehicle for a number of years and the car has not wanted for anything. Prior to the current owner, he car was left in a barn for 15 years, and was fortunately rescued before it was beyond repair.
The Paperwork
There is a lot of paperwork that comes with the car, including the V5.
The Interior
You open the door to the wonderful, classy interior of cream leather and new green carpets. The recently re-veneered wooden dashboard is in lovely condition and really sets off the interior. The owner has kept the car completely original, down to the silver Long Wave and Medium Wave radio. The interior looks in good condition and the wood was reveneered by 2 gentlemen who worked for Rolls Royce, also the carpet was replaced by the current owner and is finished in a lovely green. The sills all seem in good condition with no signs of rust.
The Exterior
The iconic wire wheels of this beautiful car really set it off, combine this with the British Racing Green paint work and you have the perfect combination. As you can see from the photographs, the car looks beautiful, especially on a lovely sunny day. The current owner has had all exterior re-chromed which is in lovely condition. The owner has had the car resprayed in 2013/2014. Unfortunately, the standard of the respray wasn’t great. There is bubbling on some of the edges (see pictures) and there is an inverted ding/crease on the boot. The boot was closed on something, and it pushed the paintwork up. But none of that takes away from an absolutely wonderful looking, iconic car.
The Mechanics
The current owner has completed a lot of work on the car over the last few years. Most recently the carbs have been rebuilt (earlier this year) and the rear springs & shocks have been replaced. Over the last few years lots of work has been done mechanically, including fuel system, steering, springs, shock absorbers, the Master cylinder, full body rubbers, replacement fuel tank, carburettor rebuild, car service kit, clutch cylinder, welding and corrosion protection amongst many other things. There are a couple of things to point out. The petrol gauge is not working and the clock on the dashboard is not working. The engine starts and sounds lovely when warm. There was no smoke or leaks in the time that we were with the vehicle, and we are told that everything else works on the car as it should. Pre covid the car has been driven problem free to the South of France and back. Most of the mechanical work has been done by an ex Jaguar mechanic who is a friend of the current owner.
