1985 — JAGUAR D-TYPE by RAM
Chassis no. P1B9027BW
• Jaguar D-Type recreation
• 3.4-litre Jaguar XK engine
• Photographic restoration record
• French registration document identifying the car as a RAM
Malcolm Sayer, it is distinguished by its aerodynamic bodywork and rear fin, a profile recreated here by RAM.
Built in April 1985, this example is fitted with a 3.4-litre Jaguar XK engine, fed by three Weber 45 DCOE carburettors.
Acquired by its owner in 2015 in derelict condition, the car underwent a chassis-up restoration, documented in a photographic record. The work included the installation of an aluminium radiator with fan, lowered suspension and a fire extinguisher system, together with the replacement of the brake pads.
Further work included the installation of electronic ignition and adjustment of the carburettors in 2019, refurbishment of the steering rack in 2020, and replacement of the clutch master and slave cylinders in July 2023. Carried out by the owner and his mechanic, these works are not supported by invoices.
With its Le Mans-inspired lines and Jaguar running gear, this RAM recreation will appeal to enthusiasts looking to recapture the atmosphere of 1950s sports cars on an outing.
