Note, VIN is best guess by date and model. The auction lists two VINs neither correct for a MKII.

1961 JAGUAR MK2 3,8L - Lot 118
French historic registration document
Chassis no. 00878878
• French-market example
• 3.8-litre engine and manual gearbox
• Two owners from new
• With its current owner for twenty-five years
Introduced in 1959, the Jaguar MK2 developed the earlier MK1 saloon. In 3.8-litre form, it combines the XK straight-six with a wood-and-leather interior, a formula that helped define the British sporting saloon.
This French-market 1961 example has a manual gearbox and has been with its current owner for twenty-five years. It has had only two owners from new.
The owner reports regular maintenance by a British car specialist. Work includes replacement of the ignition system and exhaust, retrimming approximately five years ago, and the fitting of four replacement wheels and a steering wheel. No invoices accompany these works.
The original leather upholstery, wheels and steering wheel have been retained and will be supplied with the car. The engine is described as retaining its original specification, without major modifications.
With its 3.8-litre straight-six and manual gearbox, this MK2 invites shared outings in the atmosphere of a 1960s British saloon.
