Purchased yesterday from original owner's son. Identical spec (w/w MOD) to my first car in '68. 52K miles. Nice original paint. Needs a grille and right spat.

Dave, did you purchase this car out of the Puget Sound area or locally? There was a Mk. I banging around craigslist for a bit a week or so ago up here (Seattle).

Hey Roger, This car was in the paper last year. I just follow-up called and was still available. There's been one on Ebay out of Waldport, Ore. but GM (6) drivetrain. Black wire-wheeled car. Looked straight and complete.

Just curious, the one up here looked pretty rough, but was only $1000. That's definitely not your car, from the sound of it! Love to see a photo on here if you have the time and inclination.

Sellers description:
original and unrestored Jaguar MK1 sports sedan. Here is one for the advanced collector. If you are that rare kind of savvy Jaguar collector who appreciates the patina of an original car, take a look. This is one of the best MK1 survivors around. This amazingly original MK 1 came to Oregon form the original owners Monterey California estate in 2007. I have a large folder of the original owners service records, the original California "Black Plates" and "Pink Slip" title. It is a very late production Mk1 (75th from end of the MK 1 run) perhaps the youngest MK1 that survives? Mostly original paint that polishes up very well and interior is also mostly original and really good. It is the most desirable and rare color combination, Sherwood green with Suede green leather. It is identical to the car Jaguar built for the 1958 world sports car champion Mike Hawthorne.
The original 3.4 liter engine has been rebuilt and runs perfectly. Most US delivered MK1s had the horrible Borg Warner automatic transmission. This car has the rare and desirable 4 speed overdrive transmission. The 4 wheel dics brake system has been overhauled. It has chrome wire wheels with new tires. For a unrestored 50 year old car the interior can only be described as excellent, including the wood work. Drivers seat backrest has some splits and the front bottom cushions have been redone in correct color leather. There is a small mouse hole in the original headliner. The front floor carpet has perished but there are rubber jaguar floor mats in place. The body is in very good condition with no rust in the chassis, doors, rocker panels, wheel arches, floors or spare tire tray. There is some minor rust in front jacking points and front crows feet. Chrome and glass are very good. Most of the paint is original. The left front wing has been repainted at some point, and there are a number of touch-ups. There are numerous small chips, and a scrape or two, however the over all appearance is of a very charming well preserved classic. Electrical all work, except the original radio and check out those cool period Marchal headlights
This car starts right off the switch and is a pleasure to drive. I also have the complete original tool kit and owners manual. This classic Jaguar has it all, the right colors, the right options and the right condition. If you are that rare kind of savvy collector who appreciates the patina of an original car..... this is it...one of the best survivors around.
