Sellers description:
Lot #31
Location: Provo, Utah
Chassis: S989725BW
Largely complete, sold with many spares
Nicely preserved interior
Car is running but will need rebuilt carbs
Excellent basis for restoration
This 1959 Jaguar MkI 3.4 is a recent long-term garage stored discovery sold with an engine that will crank, start, and run but not idle, and with a nicely preserved interior as well as a large cache of NOS and reproduction parts. Parked since 1983, the car will need work to be made road ready.
The 3.4 XK motor has recently been coaxed carefully back to life, though as carb gaskets gave up shortly afterward the seller has made no further run attempts, but will turn it over on starter fluid for inspection. Prior to starting, work included fresh oil and filter, cleaned and gapped plugs, and a good soak of each cylinder in Marvel Mystery Oil. A fresh battery was then installed, and once oil pressure was found to be good it was given spark--the seller adding that it ran decently over several short attempts throughout the day.
Other jobs include a full brake system flush with new front rubber lines, as well as fitting unused tires that were found in the old garage's rafters--the seller adding that they appear to be in good condition. Aside from previously mentioned items, spares include:
Two sets of hubcaps
Extra trunk lid
Full wiring harness
Fuel pump
Lots of new rubber with Jag part numbers
Wiper arms
Grille badges
Assorted dash pieces
Additional fuel gauge sending unit
New, unopened points and condenser
