This 1959 Jaguar Mk I is a left-hand-drive saloon that is finished in red over beige leather and powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The car underwent a refurbishment during previous ownership, and it was acquired by the seller and relocated to Massachusetts in 2023. Subsequent work is noted to have involved overhauling the dual SU carburetors, servicing the four-wheel disc brakes, and replacing the tires, spark plugs, ignition points, and a number of cooling hoses. It rides on 15″ wire-spoke wheels and is further equipped with a ‘Leaper’ hood ornament, driving lights, wood interior trim, and a Motorola push-button radio. This Mk I is now offered with a Massachusetts title in the seller’s name.
The car was refinished in its current shade of red under previous ownership. It features a ‘Leaper’ hood ornament in addition to driving lights, a pop-up cowl vent, fender-mounted mirrors, wheel spats, a retractable antenna, and chrome bumpers with overriders.
Chrome-finished 15″ wheels are secured via two-eared knock-off spinners and were mounted with 205/75 Fuzion tires in 2024. Further service said to have been performed at that time included overhauling the calipers as well as replacing the front rotors and the brake pads at each corner. The brake and power steering fluids were also changed.
The left-hand-drive cabin houses front bucket seats trimmed in beige leather that extends to the door panels and rear bench accompanied by color-coordinated carpets. Wood trim adorns the dash and door caps, and additional appointments include a heater, door storage pockets, and a fold-down rear armrest. The Motorola push-button AM/FM radio is mounted askew, and discoloration is visible on the carpets and headliner.
The four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock, a 120-mph speedometer, an ammeter, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 63k miles. The odometer and fuel level gauge are inoperative, and total mileage is unknown.
The 3.4-liter XK inline-six was factory rated at 210 horsepower and 213 lb-ft of torque. Work carried out in 2024 is said to have involved overhauling the dual SU carburetors, flushing the coolant, changing the oil, and replacing the upper and lower radiator hoses, spark plugs, ignition points, and condenser.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-wheel manual transmission equipped with overdrive. The seller notes that a rear differential pinion seal was replaced under current ownership, at which time the differential fluid was flushed.
The Massachusetts title lists an odometer discrepancy brand with a not-actual mileage notation.
