Ebay item 10/25/09 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-Mk1-1958-Jaguar-3-4-Mk1_W0QQitemZ180423783982
Current bid $1,136 reserve not met, 3 bids 5 days left in auction. 87k miles.
Sellers description:
1958 Jaguar 3.4 Mk1 sports saloon. This is a California car having been delivered to the original owner in the Los Angeles area when new. The car is now located in the Northern California area. I am not sure how many owners the car has had, I purchased the car from a car lot in Modesto, CA about fourteen years ago. I have the original owners manual and the original guarantee issued by Jaguar back in 1958 (guarantee not in effect anymore, of course). Engine and suspension: the engine and transmission have both been professionally rebuilt, with less than 200 miles on both. The engine is very strong and smooth as is the transmission. I have shop reciepts for both rebuilds. The front suspension has been rebuilt with all new rubber and new shocks all around. Body: The body of the car is in excellent overall condition top and bottom considering it's age. The paint is original as far as I know and only needs detailing to make it sparkle. There are only a couple of very minor dents in the rear trunk area of the car (about the size of a nickle each), a small paint chip just behind the front bumper on the right side (about the size of a penny) and a couple of other very small scratches and dings on the sides of the car, all consistant with a very well cared for driver of it's age. There is surface rust in the spare tire well, and small scattered rust bubbles under the paint just behind the right rear wheel arch in an area about 2 inches in diameter. The interior is out of the car, however the seats have been reupholstered in the original Jaguar pattern, all of the car's wood trim has been professionally refinished and is wrapped and stored. The headliner is original and should be cleanable. The carpets need to be replaced. I have most, if not all, of the parts (both original or new) to complete the car, including a new steering wheel, footpedal pads, rubber seals, chrome parts, an original tool kit and tools and much more, all of which go with the car. I recently replaced the original steel wheels and hub caps with wire wheels, hubs and knock-offs, however I still have the steel wheels and hubs and they will go with the car. All of the extra parts I have for the car will go with it when sold.

Car returns to ebay 5/15/13 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1958-JAGUAR-Mk1-RARE-3-4-liter-4speed-overdrive-EXCELLEN ...
Current bid $7,500 reserve not met, 1 bid 6 days left in auction. 87k miles. Same location.
Sellers description:
1958 Jaguar 3.4 liter, 4 speed overdrive, MK1 Saloon. Original numbers matching car. Rare 4speed with overdrive. Excellent restored/survivor condition. Rust and accident free. If you are the savvy kind of collector that appreciates the charm and patina of a survivor yet actually likes to drive your cars as well, this is the Jag MK1 you have been looking for!
The original engine, transmission and suspension have been completely rebuilt. New clutch pressure and TO bearing. This is a very early 4 wheel disc brake car, the calipers have been rebuilt, the servo is new as are all the flex lines. Brake master cylinder is new the clutch master & slave cylinder are rebuilt. I have not been able to locate the correct hand brake cables, so the car has no hand brake at this time. It has new shocks all around and 5 new radial tires on the black wheels. The engine has a convenient spin on oil filter conversion. In addition, the electric fuel pump is new, the carbs were rebuilt and the fuel tank was removed, boiled out and sealed. I have installed a manual switch to operate the electronic choke. The radiator has been cored out, water pump rebuilt and new hoses with correct hose clamps installed through out. Rebuild generator and wiper motor as well. All instruments in the dash work perfectly. It retains the original set of keys and all locks function properly. Light, blinkers, horn and charging system all work properly. I replaced all the rubber coated electrical wiring snap connecters, and cleaned all wiring grounds at the same time to keep the LUCAS gremlins away. It sports a new custom performance exhaust system that sounds out of this world. While very few miles have been covered since these overhauls, the car is fully sorted, road tested and ready to go. The goal of the mechanical restoration was to produce a reliable, excellent driver, suitable for vintage rallies or long distance classic car events. It is very comfortable yet handles like a sports car. This Jag can sit for months and she will still fire right off the switch.
The car's cosmetics have been sympathetically restored to retain it's original charm and patina. The seats have been recovered, new carpet installed, the headliner and door panels are original. The woodwork was all painstakingly refinished as was the steering wheel. All the glass and chrome is original and look very good for original. The car was re-painted many years ago, in the original dove gray color, but still presents very well. The body is truly excellent, having spent most of it's life in hot dry north central California. The floors, rockers, sills, jacking points, wheel arches, trunk and spare tire tray are perfect rust free. The only rust I can find on the car is one small blister on the LH rear door. There are a few small dings, chips and scratches.
Included in the sale is the complete original tool kit, original owners handbook and warranty card and 4 nice chrome wire wheels
It is titled as a 58, but the original warranty card indicates it was delivered new near Los Angeles California in November 1957, so it could be entered in many production date sensitive international vintage auto events and rallies.
Not to be confused with it's far more common and less sporting brother, the MK 2, there are only a handful of excellent LHD MK1 Jaguars left in the world. The majority of Mk1's that were imported to the USA have the dreadful Borg Warner D250 automatic transmission and front bench seat. To me, the Jag MK 1 is just as sexy and exotic as the XK 150.... at a fraction of the cost and with the extra perk of having a real back seat so friends or family can share in the fun. I searched for many many years to find this car. This LHD 3.4 4 sp o/d MK 1 has all the right stuff properly done.
