1959 Jaguar MK VIII. This is the rarest of all the Saloons. Only 6300 made and less than 2000 came the the U.S. I believe this car spent some time in Paris before it came to the U.S. but have not done a title search through Jaguar yet.

For restoration.......95% complete. Lots of panel rust but a solid frame and undercarriage. Wheels turn, steering works, engine turns freely and was running just 10 years ago. The cam lobes look brand new. This car is equipped with Power Assisted steering. Another rare option for this car. Carb linkages function, switches work, door handles work, windows go up and down. Even the little windows in both frnt and rear doors open and close. The picnic tables function, and even the rear passenger lighters are still in place on the door pillars. There are bits of stuff in the trunk as well. Door weather stripping, 2 spare tires, jack, bumper overiders for the front bumper, air cleaners for the SU carbs, pieces of trim that have fallen off, a brand new Jaguar muffler...dual chamber, and any other bits I have found to be important whether for replacement or refinishing. All the chrome is present. All the glass is good, no chips or cracks. And yes, the original tubed white wall tires are holding air just fine. I have not opened the sunroof yet nor hooked a battery to it. I will be doing this later today and will update. I have the rear wheel spats as well in the trunk. They are in nice shape.

I say 95% complete because I am missing the keys and title. That is all that is missing. the car is amazingly complete. Most of the body is ok. The doors and floors up front will need replacement and some work on the pillars between front and back doors. The front fenders need attention but I think can be salvaged. The chrome is all there with none of it rotted. I have removed the carpet and padding as it was very funky and I wanted to see the floors. Leather will need replacement as well. I have a work shop manual for the car.

This is a no reserve auction.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
