Ebay item 12/28/07 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-MKII-3-8-Automatic-automatic-1962-MKII-3-8-Beauti ...
Car has a buy it now price of $65,000 for 6 days. 83k miles. Complete VIN on this car is J62P218892BW.
Sellers description:
This original MKII came from California with its black plates from San Francisco.
Original bill of sale (see picture) and every single work ever done is included with the car. When I purchased it from its original owner back in 2000, I bought it with the intentions of restoring it and keeping it for ever.
Around seven years has gone by and I’ve invested a lot in the car. From Body to Mechanical to Interior to complete Chrome being redone etc etc etc.
Now that the car is ready, I’m forced into selling the one thing I truly loved and enjoyed spending time and money on.
Body was done first and it took around three years. Jaguar color code was used. Luckily it did not have any rust on it at all when I bought it but still it cost me over $26,000.
Interior was done by an expert local Jaguar man that used all original Connolly leather for seats, carpeting, head liner, door panels, all rubbers around door, front and rear windshield, trunk, hood, windows (rubbers and channels) and so on. This cost me over $15,000.
As for the wood pieces, they were all removed, redone and replaced at cost of around $2800.
The complete exterior/interior chrome pieces were removed and re-chromed to the tune of over $14,000. (very expensive in Canada to re-chrome).
As for all it’s original parts and labor (lights, light lenses, chrome pieces here and there) and all other little items that one doesn’t think about has cost me in excess of $6000.
I did not change the spoke wheels but had them powder coated so when all work was to be complete, I would then buy the new spoke wheels. Tires are brand new though with less than 3 miles on them.
To say that it’s a 10 will be incorrect because I’m sure you can still find tiny small things on it that you would want to change but to find one as beautifully restored as this with ALL its paperwork accompanying it is very RARE. From the original bill of sale to the smallest repairs done is unheard of and so I give it 9.5
Spending so much on a car can be considered lunatic unless you have emotional memories or some other attachments. To say I’ve invested all in all over “Seventy Five Thousand Dollars” will be under estimating it but enough said.
