Ebay item 2/26/12
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Classic-1962-Jaguar-3-8-MK-2-Sedan-Beverly-Hills-Califor ...
Opening bid $8,000 reserve not met, no bids yet 6 days left in auction. Complete VIN on this car is J62P217932BW.
Sellers description:
1962 Jaguar 3.8 MK2 4 door sedan. The original owner who purchased the JAG new was a woman who lived in Beverly Hills California. In my opinion, she kept this car garaged and in meticulous condition. Comes with all her original notes, books and documentation. From what I can tell this car was her baby. I am thesecond owner and the title is free and clear in my name. The car has 79,000 miles...
Here's what I know...The original engine and tranny were removed and replaced with what my mechanic believes is a Ford 302CU inch engine and Ford tranny (unk miles on replaced motor and tranny). This Jaguar has four wheel disc brakes that were just bled. It has power steering, telescopic steering wheel, speed assist, and all around wire wheels including the spare. In the boot there is the original repair kit from Jaguar with all the tools and the brake bleed kit.
All the glass, in great condition...all the chrome throughout, in great condition...front and back upholstery, in great condition... the wool carpet in great condition (front floor carpet mats missing)...the woodgrain panels, good condition with some wear and cracking of the clear coat...the headliner in good. Come take a look. This Jag is being offered condition...tires are old SEARS Allstate whitewalls that show cracking, but very driveable...newer 12V battery...appears to have had a recent tune-up and shocks replaced...has an old alarm system with motion detector that has been disconnected.
Here's what I've done: New Ignition switch with new lock and key, new rear fuel pump at tank, new fuel filter, repaired an exhaust leak at the manifold with new flange and pipe, oil change, radiator flush, brake fluid reservoir and sending unit just installed.
Here are the issues I have found: Heater not working, Windscreen washers not working, Tach not working, clock not working, paint chips throughout with misc dents and scratches, no key for the doors and glove box.
ALL in ALL this is a wonderfully preserved 1962 Jaguar to drive or restore to original
