Sellers description:
This vehicle was purchased new by Mr. Evenson from Rowland Motors in Seattle and took delivery in San Francisco in 1961. It is thus a "one owner" car. It was his personal pride and joy. He did not drive the vehicle on a daily basis and never around town. He drove it only on pleasure trips out of town. The odometer reads 26,398. Most of its mileage has been at highway speeds.
The vehicle is the classic Mk. II 3.8 sports saloon which inspired the current Jaguar "S" series. It has a 4 speed automatic transmission with overdrive. It has its original Blaupunkt AM/FM radio. Its chromed wire spoke wheels, black exterior with black leather interior, and English burled walnut dash and molding make it an elegant example of the marque. Mr. Evenson re-upholstered the front seats. The rear seat upholstery and tan cloth headliner are original. The vehicle comes with its original factory tool kit which fits into the spare tire wheel well in the floor of the trunk and is in virtually mint condition. The vehicle also comes with its original factory copper and leather mallet for removal of the "knock off" hub of the spoke wheels. The vehicle also includes its original owner's and shop manuals.
The vehicle has won awards in tours and rallies including the following: Concours d'Elegance, 1st Place, Driven Class 5 at July 21, 1992, Western States Jaguar Clubs of North America Meet at Victoria, B.C. , and Concours d'Elegance, 2nd in Class at the 1998 XK 120 50th Anniversary, Western States Jaguar Clubs of North America Meet at Lake Tahoe, Nev.
The vehicle has been kept in a heated garage throughout its Evenson ownership.
Mr. Evenson's file of service records, parts purchases, correspondence, and other documents and records regarding the vehicle is available for inspection PRICE: $40,000
