Car to be at auction 10/09
www.classic-auctions.co.uk/lotdetail.php

Auction description:
Lot : 44
1960 Jaguar Mk II 3.8 Litre
Extensive restoration during 1990s
Estimate: £16000 - 18000
Registration No: RFF 820
Chassis No: P213848BW
Engine No:
Colour: White
Trim Colour: Red
MOT: Aug 2010

Finished in Old English White with red leather upholstery, this particular example is described by the vendor as being in "excellent" condition with regard to its engine, four-speed manual plus overdrive gearbox, electrical equipment, interior trim, bodywork and paintwork. Reportedly changed from left- to right-hand drive specification as part of a `ground up' restoration that was completed in 1996 at a rumoured cost of £60,000, `RFF 820' is further understood to have formed part of Penzance resident Ken Jones's imposing Jaguar collection. Stated to have covered less than 4,000 miles since its 1990s refurbishment was completed, work carried out during the current ownership has included a switch from automatic to manual / overdrive transmission and thus the fitting of a new clutch and lightened flywheel etc. Said to be "a very reliable car that will keep up in modern traffic", the Jaguar has the further benefits of "very straight panelwork" and a full-length sunroof. Worthy of close inspection, this pampered MKII is offered for sale with extensive restoration bills / invoices and MOT certificate valid until August 2010.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
