Car has a buy it now price of $24,500 for 9 days.

    Sellers description:
    1961 JAGUAR MK 2
The car you see here has what I believe to be the most complete documentation trail of ANY Mk 2 in existance. Stacks of paper work dating back to 1971 go with this vehicle. Over $52,000 worth of work orders, parts, chrome, glass, mechanical rebuilds, interior etc etc. The documentation contains a wonderful glimpse into the history of a classic car, and it's owners, who spared no expense maintaining, improving and caring for it. A major restoration was commissioned in 1987. The correspondance contained in the documents alone would make an interesting read in any automotive publication!

The Mk 2 looks and sounds incredible. Keep in mind that much of the work was completed over 2 decades ago! What is $50,000 in 1987 worth in today's money? The paint is still stunning, but is starting to show it's age in a few areas. The paint is lifting on top of the front fenders and a few bubbles have developed on the bottom of a couple of the doors. Besides those areas, you would think the car was painted last last year.

All of the glass, weather stripping, and chrome is new. The rear axle, and engine have been rebuilt. The original tube (sorry, VALVE if you are English) radio works. Original, and hard to find tool kit is included. If we were to keep the car, we thought it might be nice to go ahead and install air conditioning. Your choice, but I will include a new alernator, in case you want to replace the generator, which would be unable to cope with modern accessories.

Current bid $5,545, 11 bids 6 days left in auction. Same location.

    Sellers description:
1961 Jaguar MkII at $1.00 with NO RESERVE! The highest bidder will own this car! You are looking at an older restoration with over $50,000 in receipts! Yes, the documentation goes with the car. Recent updates include NEW chrome, including the window surrounds. The wire wheels and tires are NEW! The glass is NEW! The Jag starts, runs, and drives like any respectable "Cat" should. You will be amazed at how quiet and refined this 50 year old classic car feels behind the wheel. I would take it anywhere! The paint looks stunning in the pictures but upon closer inspection is beginning to show it's age. Areas on top of the front wings (sorry, fenders!) are beginning to lift and there is a small amount of bubbling beginning to form at the lower doors. It is minor, but worth mentioning. Otherwise the car is as solid as you are likely to find. The original tube radio was completely restored and works. The tool kit that resides in the spare wheel is included.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
