This example is a wonderful Jaguar 420 manual with overdrive. It was first registered on 5th June 1967, and is finished in Opalescent Silver Grey with a Suede Green leather interior. The vendor has owned the car three times since 1982, when it was in as new condition and had only 29,000 miles from new. When he purchased it for the third time in 2014, even though it had done only 44,000 miles, because of the lack of use and poor storage, it did need some refurbishment. It was decided to refurbish everything on the car, with a full engine rebuild, and custom-made stainless steel exhaust system, including manifolds. The total costs of the rebuild was close to £40,000.

The total mileage of the car, although now academic, is as per the speedometer reading of some 45,000 miles. The car has manual transmission with overdrive, power assisted steering, a limited slip differential, and chrome wire wheels (including the spare). The original hand books etc and the original tool kit come with the car. There is also a box of spare parts including the original steering wheel, original radio, and a workshop manual.

The vendor states that this really is the best 420 that you are ever likely to see. It is a fabulous example of the rarest and best driving of all the sixties Jaguar saloon cars, and less than half the price of a big engined MK2 in equal condition.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
