Car was at auction in '05
http://www.rmauctions.com/AuctionResultsSearch.cfm?AuctionYear=All&LotNum=&From=&To=&Make=jaguar&SortBy=AL&Model=&Sold=All&submitSearch=Search#
Description:
1965 Jaguar 3.8 S Saloon
LOT: 079
Estimate:
$40,000-$50,000 US
Chassis No. P1B77802BW
AUCTION RESULTS: Lot was Sold at a price of $37,400
This stunning example has had a recent show/driver level restoration completed by marque specialists Classic Showcase. It is a three-time trophy winner, including a Best of Class Award in Jaguar showing and has taken first place in the JCNA Concours d’Elegance and first Place at the Southern California British Car Day in 2003. It has scored 99 points in
numerous competitions throughout the Southwest, including additional wins at Phoenix and San Diego. Always garage kept and well maintained, this is one of the finest examples we have ever presented, as it was the personal car of a meticulous owner who used the Jaguar for jaunts around town.
The previous restoration of the Jaguar included a new Basset leather interior, recent repaint including color sanding and buffing, a complete engine service, major detail of the engine compartment, undercarriage and trunk, as well as some brightwork replated. Mechanically, work included rebuilding the brake system, a new exhaust system and restoring both the fuel system and the cooling system that included the very desirable rear air conditioning. This Jaguar is very well equipped with wire wheels, factory seat belts, dual exhaust,
automatic transmission with overdrive, full wood dash and instrumentation and a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio. Showing less than 71,000 miles, believed to be original from new, this handsome dark blue Jaguar is a peerless example of the pedigree.

The car we offer would be a great way to subscribe to that legend, being as it is a former concours prize winner which has now mellowed nicely but continued to be well maintained. Its heyday of awards which included a first at JCNA Concours level and wins at Phoenix and San Diego, came in 2003 and 2004, and followed a thorough rebuild in the hands of well-known marque specialists Tom Krefetz’s Classic Showcase of California. Tom had taken an already good car which was owned fastidiously and in his own words help it to achieve ‘perfection’.
Today it is now more of a ‘driver condition’ car, but certainly still presents very tidily, the deep blue paint and light blue leather interior set off well with its wire wheels, and chrome trim. Finding, and/or restoring good example of these models is not easy and can be a very lengthy and costly process. On sale today to the highest bidder, this will put such headaches behind the enthusiast keen to enjoy the summer months ahead in style.
Estimate: $25,000 - 35,000

Car has a buy it now price of $32,000 for 29 days, seller cod. crow, car now said to be in Covina, CA 74k miles.
Seller's description:
Up for sale is my 1965 Jaguar 3.8 S sports sedan. The car is an older restoration and a former JCNA Concours Winner. The car also appears in a 2009 episode of "Chasing Classic Cars" with Wayne Carini. The car retains its original Blaupunkt AM/FM radio, Artic-Kar trunk mounted air conditioning, tool kit, jack and spare wheel. The car has rebuilt rear brakes, a rebuilt automatic transmission and new alloy radiator with electric fan. The chassis and floorplans are solid. The car could do with a tune-up (carburetor adjustment and timing adjustment) and new cooling hoses, but the car has been reliable and a pleasure to drive long distances. 3.8S sedans like this are hard to find in this condition, so grab this one for yourself and hit the road!
