Ebay item 10/26/08
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-1967-Jaguar-Mk-II-3-4-litre-7-507-mile-barn-find_ ...
Current bid $3,000, 1 bid, 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1967 Jaguar Mk.II 3.4. This car is in totally original condition inside and out and was purchased from an estate in Michigan. It last ran about a year and a half ago and has since been sitting unused in my workshop. It is believed that this car has covered 7,507 miles from new, with the last scheduled Jaguar service being undertaken in 1984 at 7,440 miles. My original intentions with this car were to give it a sympathetic restoration for use in JCNA rallying but every time I attempt to dedicate time to working on the car, something else gets in the way and I know that the upcoming winter months aren’t going to be much better. The car is equipped with a Borg Warner three-speed automatic transmission with the very rare option of speed control as well as an AM/FM/SW Blaupunkt radio. When it ran last, it showed good oil pressure and did not overheat, however I will tell you that the carburetors do need to be overhauled and a service performed on the car, simply due to the length of dormancy. The brake pedal goes to the floor, so that will also need to be sorted out before the car is driven. The body is in very good, solid condition and is finished in the original color of Silver Grey Metallic with a Black Amblahyde interior, which is also in good, original condition and shows a lovely patina. The wood is all complete and in remarkably good condition as well. All chrome and other exterior brightwork is present and in good condition, however if you were to repaint the car, you would also want to have the shiny bits re-chromed. The car is sitting on the original Michelin XZX tires which, amazingly, are in fine condition, however once again I would suggest you renew them if you intend to use the car for longer journeys. If you restored it for concours, either as a 100 point car or as a ‘preservation class’ entry, the tires will be a correct detail. I have a clear, Michigan title as well as some past provenance, the original books that came with the car when it was new and a period Jaguar factory service manual. Mk.IIs are getting harder and harder to find in such original condition, and are commanding pretty high prices on the classic car market. I’d love to recommission this car but as I said, time is of the essence for me so I’d love to see it go to someone who will give it the attention it deserves.

sq.in and 45 at 2.700 RPM. This car has power steering, a very rare option. All the panel instruments works OK except, sometimes, the tach. Apparently, the problem is in the signal generator at the rear of the inlet camshaft. The head lamps, tool kit and internal upholstery are original, including the seat belts, according people that knows such cars. Engine & transmission numbers match original plate, on internal side of engine compartment.. Cabin wood trimming is in a very good shape, considering the age of this car. The jack points under the car are rusted, again due to the age of the car. Despite the body is in good shape, I have no doubts that a new painting job would be necessary to get a concourse appearance. For normal use a polishing job shall be enough. There are also some rust on two road wheels, but with some sanding, polishing and painting they will be like new ones. The car will be pick up in Georgia and the winner will carry out also a folder containing all the car life service paperwork and the original owner´s manual & lubrication chart and the british complete workshop manual.

Previous auction ended at $6,700 after 11 bids.

Sellers descriptoin:
My primary intention was to export this vehicle to Brazil, but the taxes and fees loaded on old cars were changed recently and becomes this goal impossible. So, I decided to sell the car, This car was not before restored and it still have the original painting, seatbelts and upholstery. Nothing is missing, included the original radio, tools set, service & owner manuals. Wood is in a very good condition. Engine is running good (120-140 psi compression pressure, in all cylinders and 20 psi oil pressure @ 1.000RPM, hot), automatic transmission and power steering works nice. But, the car needs a painting job and a complete brakes service. (Due to long period - 10 years - parked under cover and also on back yards, the original brakes steel tubing are corroded from inside to outside) The original paint is very thin and beguin to show severe wear. Rusted parts? Yes! A unrestored MK2 Jag without rusted parts is not a MK2! On this specific case, the jack points, the left bumper support and the lateral under doors boxes, needs some attention. The "chassis" (monocoque) is solid. We do encourage to order a inspection on this car. Probably, within U.S, is one of the best car for a serious restoration project. (or spending less money, to enjoy this classic of the sixties, driving it on weekends.)

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
