This 1967 Jaguar 340 is a two owner example that is claimed to be original apart from a single repaint. Powered by a 3.4-liter twin cam inline-six paired to a 4-speed manual gearbox, this car was previously owned in Nantucket and was acquired from the previous owner's estate after ten years of sitting idle. The seller is representing the current owner in this sale, and returned the car to roadworthy condition with a rebuild of the carburetors, new wheels and tire, a brake system refresh, and suspension work. This Mk.II is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate and Connecticut registration.
The seller reports that this Jaguar was repainted once from its original dark blue to its present black, and the finish now shows some orange peel. During the recommissioning, new wheels were fitted in place of the pitted original items, and new tires were also installed.
The rear bumper has been re-chromed but the front bumper has not. Some hazing is present in the original brightwork, though the trim is intact and complete throughout the car.
The only noted rust repair is in the passenger-side rocker. Apart from this repair, the car is said to retain all-original sheet metal.
The cabin appears unmodified from its original specification, with a correct Jaguar wheel and dash fittings still present. Original instrumentation is fitted, and all of the gauges are said to be in good working order. The 67k indicated miles are said to be correct.
This Mk.II came from the more economical end of the model line, and as such does not have a radio, leather seats, or rear seat tray tables. The blue vinyl upholstery and carpets are intact, with straight piping and consistent coloration throughout.
The 3.4-liter twin cam inline-six is unmodified and benefits from a recent recommissioning after a stint in longterm storage. The seller's services included cleaning the fuel system and gas tank, servicing the brakes and suspension, and rebuilds of both carburetors.
Numerous photos of the underside are provided in the gallery and detail the exhaust as well as replacement suspension components.
