This gleaming piano black 340 3.8 L Jaguar has been one family owned since February of 1968. It is in great mechanical condition and has always been garage kept since day one. In 1967 the Mark II, with minor changes, was re-designated as a model 340. As far as the 340 version is concerned, this proved to be the rarest of the whole line with a total of only 535 L.H.D being produced. This particular Jaguar is 1 of fewer than 10 outfitted with a 3.8-liter engine. With the fitment of the straight port cylinder heads [a la the E-type] and a slightly lighter body shell, these "340's” proved to be actually the faster than the full-blooded Mark II equivalents. The undercarriage is clean with no rust and fitted with a proper Jaguar exhaust system.

It has been extremely well maintained by its caretaker over the span of 51 years. The engine was refreshed at 53,360 miles and is in great running mechanical condition today.

The 340 rides on properly sized 185/15 Redline tires, which really enhance the look by bringing out the Red interior. The interior is in great condition and is complimented with wood trim for an elegant and classy look. It features a 4-speed manual transmission, full instrumentation, and power steering for the ease of handling. The paint and britework are very complimenting to the overall look of this Jaguar.

It is very rare to find such a beautiful original example on the market today, especially one with very long-term ownership who cared for this Sedan, keeping it just as beautiful as the day it was built. This is a great Jaguar that should go to a collector that is going to be proud to be its next caretaker for years to come. This beautiful 340 Jaguar will come with a recap of all its major service during its past ownership from 1968 to December of 2018.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
