Lot #88441

This 1967 Jaguar MK II is finished in black over red leather upholstery and powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Equipment includes 15″ wire wheels, chrome bumpers, fender-mounted mirrors, a manually operated sunroof, a wood interior trim, an AM/FM cassette stereo, and an aftermarket air conditioning system. The car was acquired by the current owner in 2005 and service performed included fitting a stainless-steel exhaust system. This MK II is now offered on dealer consignment with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, manufacturer’s literature, and a clean Missouri title listing the car as a 1967 model.

The body is believed to have been refinished in its current shade of black under previous ownership and is equipped with a manually operated sunroof, bright trim, fender-mounted mirrors, a Leaper hood ornament, pop-out vent windows, and chrome bumpers with overriders. The windshield wiper motor and cable are said to have been replaced during current ownership.

Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-off spinners and mounted with 185-series Vredestein Sprint Classic tires that were reportedly installed under current ownership. The suspension is said to be equipped with replacement front coil springs and Koni dampers. Braking is provided by discs at all four corners.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench seat trimmed in red leather, accompanied by wood trim and a color-coordinated center console and door panels. Appointments include an aftermarket air conditioning system, an AM/FM cassette stereo, and a locking glove compartment.

A two-spoke steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline. Additional readouts for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and battery amperage are located in the center stack. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 94k miles.

The DOHC 3.4-liter inline-six features twin SU carburetors and was factory rated at 210 horsepower.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission and a Laycock electronically actuated overdrive unit. A stainless steel exhaust system was installed under current ownership.

The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate lists serial numbers, factory colors, a manufacture date of November 23, 1966, and distribution through Jaguar Cars of New York. Manufacturer’s literature, as well as a copy of a magazine featuring the car, are also included in the sale.

The Missouri title lists the car as a 1967 model and shows a VIN of J67P180666, adding the prefix “J67” to the car number stamped on the data plate.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
