On offer here is a 1967-built 420G, built to special order by the Brown Lane factory and painted in black over gold, which the Essex vendor tells us is in excellent condition, whilst the light brown trim is good. The high spec includes electric windows and a full length Webasto sunroof. The 4235cc 6-cylinder engine and 3-speed automatic transmission are reportedly in excellent order, whilst a believed to be genuine 27,500 miles in total were displayed on the odometer when entered for this sale.
A 2003 conducted vehicle valuation conducted by a leading marque specialist described PHV 762E as "a truly exceptional original example", confirming all the numbers matched, the recorded mileage was genuine and the original fixtures and fittings were in place. It also has full service history, original paperwork, handbook, green log book, unused Jag tool kit and radiator muff.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
