Ebay item 4/5/09 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Auction ended at $19,000 reserve not met, after 1 bid
Sellers description:
This Classic Beauty has Rolls Royce/Bentley looks with Great Jaguar Styling and Fit!! We are selling this Beautiful NATIVE California Classic 1960 Mark IX Jaguar CLASSIC (Left hand drive made for import into the United States) The body is pretty straight and all of the doors open and close well. It has all of the glass panels (front and back windshields and side door glass,The metal on this Classic Jaguar is in Very good original condition overall. Even the roof and drip rails are still intact. 67,412 Actual Miles. Super Reliable FULL "FIVE Liter V8" Engine Much more simular to a 1960 & up Rolls Royce & Bentley Classic Would have, I believe this has it's SHELBY COBRA styled appearance upgraded FORD V8 & what appears to be it's Factory Mated FORD A.O.D. Automatic Overdrive Transmission as it's Factory HUGE Oil Sump 12" X 12" pan has approximately 4 times the capacity of a Ford C-4 non-overdrive automatic trans. pan & it's V8 has a Air Conditioner Compressor and Bracket are already there you just need a A/ C conversion from the engine back if you ever want to add Air Conditioning to this beauty. Always registered in Southern California since 1960 ! ! ! ! ! , & Yes, of Course it has its' Original 1960's California "Black & Gold" License Plates.
When I purchased this car my 30 year mechanic & I looked this car all over and under and it is one of the straighter Classic Jaguars I have seen ! It still has All of it's Original Frame, fenders, Roof & Quarter panels, bumpers, doors , trunk sheet metal etc just as it came from the Jaguar factory in 1960! ...This was a Very Beautiful car that appeared to have been resonably well cared for & garaged for many years. The majority of its' Original Paint was still in fairly GOOD condition! "A TRUE CREAM PUFF ! (A True Gem) ! It's metal was one of the best and most original Jaguars that I have seen to date, and since its' restoration (as described in this auction) is even more impressive! Even the majority of it's very Beautiful Premium woods were in resonably good Condition ... Though, not a Museum piece... it is Very Beautiful. When this car was Imported it spent many years of it's life in a Fine Home in Beautiful Carmel, California. The car was entirely just professionally painted (in 2008) with High Quality Low Maintenance Urethane Paints that should last for decades if cared for properly. I have added Many Appearance upgrades, It appears to have some New Brake, Disc Brake Calipers, Please email me for "build it" pictures, ALL FOUR ~Brand New "HUGE" Woodhouse Brand new Shock Absorber Suspension. Since the New Upgraded V8 was installed the original Jaguar speedometer has not yet been re-connected. I have a Brand New High Quality Stewart Warner Speedometer & a set of 3 new accessory gages all that needs to be done is connect them. The temp sensor is already in place. Stewart Warner will have a universal speedo drive & bracket and it should be very reasonable and very available so hooking that up should be very easy .Also, Believe it or not this Fine car has two gas tanks I am currently only using the right side tank. Like many of the dash knobs and things I am a little unsure how everything works most everything seems to be there I just do not know how to turn everything on etc.?
