Ebay item 12/17/08

Current bid $1,025 reserve not met 14 bids, 4 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1956 Jaguar Mark VII M that is literally a barn find. Recently rolled out of a barn for the first time in over 20 years. This is a very solid "M" model with many features of the later Mark VIII and IX models of 1957-61. For one, it has the borg warner model DG 250 automatic transmission. It also has the later model headlamp rims, bumpers and tail lamps. Rockers, floors, doors and fenders appear to be free of rot. Could not take photos of the trunk area and therefore do not know what surprises may be in the trunk. There is a good sized dent in the boot lid that can be knocked out pretty easily. Trunk will not currently open without force; hood opened when first rolled out but latch mechanism needs lubrication. Clear 1950s title but no warranties implied or stated regarding condition of engine, transmission or other mechanical and hydraulic systems on the car. This car is too solid and complete to be parted out. Car is located in Northern Virginia near Leesburg, VA. Selling this vehicle for friends to settle an estate. Car VIN number is 739698 and title states it is a 1956 model.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
