Ebay item 1/24/10
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-VII-Jaguar-1953-Mark-VII-Project-Very-Solid_W0QQi ...
Car has a buy it now price of $8,800 for 8 days.

Sellers description:
1953 Jaguar Mark VII

I purchased the car with the thought for restoring it but do not have the time

There is no rust on the body panels that I can see and the car must of been given a cheap paint job at one time because the paint is flaking off and what you see is just surface rust were the paint is missing. I was told when I purchased the car that it was driving and running about 5 to 6 years ago He told me the starter, horn and lights look like they were replaced at one time. I was also told that this is a match # car, I looked at the head and that matches the plate # I have not looked at the motor.
The car looks like a complete car, all the parts that were with the car.
Who ever buys the car will likely have to drain the gas tank and clean the lines with the Carb.

This is a great project which a nice solid car once it cleaned up.

I was told the car was on the road about 5 to 6 years ago and when I purchased the car had the Plates and Reg. on the car, he told me that he and his Family would go for Sunday Drives. I purchased the car to clean up but Its time to clean the garage out. I have 9 cars in my personal collection, So the show cars stay and the projects go

Just confirmed that the BLOCK and the HEAD are Matching #'s, the Motor does spin Freely.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
