Car was again at auction in France:
www.artcurial.com/en/asp/fullCatalogue.asp
Auction description:
Lot 370
1948 Jaguar 3,5 litres cabriolet Châssis n° 637200
- Well-documented recent history
- Rare, in very good condition
- ASI registered
The Jaguar MkIV on offer has the most chic body style, that of a convertible with three positions: one can choose between a fully closed soft top, or a fully open one or a half open in the position called "Mylord". Sold in 2003 at an auction at Paris' Palais de Congrès, the car eventually became a part of an important Italian collection. But before that many maintenance and/or restoration had been done in the 1990s, including stainless steel exhaust, thermostat, restoration of the right door, repair of the ignition system, the steering box, the starter, rear brakes, engine tuning, brakes, fuel pump (all invoices are available). More work was done by the Italian collector, who was most attentive to the proper functioning of his car, which is listed on the demanding Italian register of the ASI. Grey with red leather interior, the car is in a very fine state. The car's tool box, housed in the trunk lid, as many British cars from the period, seems very complete. Refined and sophisticated, this elegant automobile that encapsulates the best of British in terms of luxury has also an aura of cozy sportiness.
Italian registration
Estimation 65 000 - 85 000 €
Sold for 71,482 €

Anonymous, whoever changed the hood (top) colour from Black to French Grey and other things like 1st owner's country, can you please show photos if the car was re-hooded after 2012? Also the car previously had engine nr. Z3369, was the engine replaced? Do you have photos of the engine number? Cheers!
