Hi, could be a mistake, but "S1198" looks like it could be the gearbox number, body number should be like "C1198" although very few DHC's also had "DH" prefix body numbers. Cheers!

Pekka, good catch! The proper body number is C1198
#637155 was owned by R.V.Roseboom of Fresno, California in 1978.
Roseboom may have purchased the car from its original owner. Roseboom restored the car in grey and black paint before selling it.
The car was for some time in Japan, cause in 1989 it was included on a register of XK Jaguars in that country.

Very nice and rare example from private ownership.
According to Heritage, the vehicle was delivered to Los Angeles on June 9, 1948. Dealer: Quale Motors.
From 1965-2010 owned by the Dr.James O`Neill family, Santa Monica Blvd. Beverly Hills.
In 2010 the family sold the vehicle to Germany.
Only one owner in Germany until 2022.
From 2011-2012 the Jaguar was restored by a well-known German company. All invoices and image documentation available. Only around 287 LHD examples built secure the value of the investment.
