Good catch Mateusz. Also 3.5Lt cars have two fuel pumps. This one has only one! could it be a 2.5Lt? The two chrome strip finisher mouldings on the folding hood are replaced with American type moulding.

In addition to the comments above, missing all chrome pin beading. I.D. plates mounted in wrong location with rivets instead of brass screws. SAE fasteners instead of BSW. Tool tray lid should be body color.

Hi, good observations. Again, a really nice car, but definately not from 1947. These cars are very often quoted being older than they are. Almost certainly built in May or April 1948. Cheers!

Pekka, yep according to Jaguar Heritage chassis numbers - this car must have been produced at least in 1948, if not in 1949 - without Heritage certificate it's hard to tell.

Definitely not 1949. This is an early 1948. As of 637164 and on, location of volt regulator and fuse box changed to the top of the floating dash. A bit more rational in the event of fuel pump leakage !

Having said that, when a claim attesting to full authenticity is asked to challenge, it becomes important to redress non-authentic points of restoration, so as to reduce duplications by anyone restoring their own projects. In the case of the above car, the more I look, the more obvious the non-authentic points jump out. The running lights on the fenders are a case in point. They look more like the MK V lights with a top screw securing the units. The IV lights were secured with inner blade springs, not a screw.

Interior shows well with no odors and is comfortable, even for a 6' 3" tall driver. Leaks a little oil during storage, but no worse than the typical car of this distant era.
