RAF Museum, Hendon
Lot No: 358
This lot has been withdrawn
c.1964 Jaguar Mk2 3.8-Litre Saloon
Registration no. to be advised
Chassis no. 234448BW
Engine no. to be advised
Estimate: £4,000 - 6,000
This 3.8-litre Mk2 was probably converted from automatic transmission to the current manual/overdrive gearbox during its restoration in the late 1990s. Last used in 2006, the car is tidily presented and should require only a fresh battery and relatively mild re-commissioning before returning to the road. This Lot is offered without reserve and sold strictly as viewed

Car to return to auction 711
www.coys.co.uk/auction.php
Auction description:
Lot 145 - 1967 Jaguar Mk II 3.8 MoD
145 - 1967 Jaguar Mk II 3.8 MoD
Estimate: £8,000 - £15,000
Registration Number: PPL 604E
Chassis Number: 234448BW
This model, with the 3.8 litre, 220bhp engine, was to be the ultimate Jaguar saloon. Naturally, performance was excellent, figures for maximum speed and 0-60mph being 125mph and 8.5 seconds. PPL 604E underwent restoration in the 1990s, which we understand included significant attention the bodywork, mechanicals, and trim.
In the last year the car has enjoyed much recommissioning work. The cylinder head has been removed to repair a bent valve, brake callipers have been rebuilt with new seals on each corner, the steering has received attention, and a fresh battery has been fitted.
Sold with a long MoT and finished in the classic combination of British Racing Green with a red hide interior and chrome wire wheels, and sounding suitably throaty through its custom stainless steel exhaust, this is your chance to acquire a genuine MkII 3.8 which can be driven and enjoyed straight away.
