This model, with the 3.8 litre, 220bhp engine, was to be the ultimate Jaguar saloon. Naturally, performance was excellent, figures for maximum speed and 0-60mph being 125mph and 8.5 seconds. PPL 604E underwent restoration in the 1990s, which we understand included significant attention the bodywork, mechanicals, and trim.

In the last year the car has enjoyed much recommissioning work. The cylinder head has been removed to repair a bent valve, brake callipers have been rebuilt with new seals on each corner, the steering has received attention, and a fresh battery has been fitted.
