Car to be at auction 1/12
www.coys.co.uk/auction.php

Auction description:
Autosport
An Important Auction of Grand Prix, Competition, Touring & Rally Cars and Collectors Items
Sat 14th January 2012 at 12:30pm
Lot 249 - 1964 Jaguar Mk II 3.8 Manual with Overdrive to Coombs Specific
Estimate: £23,000 - £27,000
Registration Number: AAA 647C
Chassis Number: 233438DN

This example was the subject of a documented restoration with expenditure in the region of £40,000 in 2007 to 2009. Significant mechanical work was carried out by a renowned XK specialist to restore and upgrade the car based on an agreed "Coombs replica" specification; including a Guy broad 5 speed gear box - the details of which can be found in the car's history file.

The car is fitted with the original 'S' Type interior, which is un restored but nostalgic nonetheless. The car handles well, is quick and is a little stiffer than a standard MK 2.

Oh crikey . A mark 2 with an "original S type interior" . And its registration number dates from 1965, not 1964

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
