Car to be at auction 6/13
www.coys.co.uk/auction.php
Auction description:
Lot 157 - 1963 Jaguar Mk II 3.8
Estimate: £40,000 - £55,000
Registration Number: TBA
Chassis Number: 230096DN
This original low mileage example was first registered on 13th December 1963 and now boasts just 2 owners. Comprehensively restored by Jaguar marque specialist Classic Coachbuilders which included repainting to the original specification in Golden Sand, the red interior fully re-trimmed with restored woodwork.
The engine was rebuilt with a leadfree conversion to the head, and further subtle modifications include the fitment of a manual 5 speed gearbox and uprated braking system, air-conditioning, uprated heating, rear seat belts, uprated water pump, an aluminium radiator, zenon headlamps and radio/satnav/ipod unit making this Mk II very much a useable and drivable classic that offers modern creature comforts while keeping up with modern traffic conditions.
Supplied with a host of bills dating from 1976, a Jaguar Heritage certificate, a V5C, the history file also contains a current MoT valid until March 2014, as well as old examples.
Described by the vendor as being in 'concours/excellent' condition, this superb restored example has covered some 5,000 miles since restoration. The old Jaguar legend, 'pace, grace and space' is entirely appropriate in this instance.

Auction description:
Lot Number 140
1963 Jaguar Mark 2 3.8 'Custom'
£55,000 - £65,000
RM | Online Only - LONDON 26 - 31 OCTOBER 2020 - Auction Closes on 31 October 2020
Chassis No. 23009 DN
Engine No. LC5491-8
Documents: UK V5
According to the accompanying Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, this Mark 2 3.8-litre was first delivered via J.R. Inwards Ltd to a Mr C Ball Esq of Denham, Middlesex on 13th February 1963. Finished in Opalescent Golden Sand over a Red leather interior, the colour scheme it sports today, it is accompanied by its original U.K. logbook, showing that it was first registered as NMK 394 on February 25, 1963. The logbook chronicles ownership through a handful of owners leading to the acquisition of Peter Kay of Bolton in 1978, who owned the car at least through 2004. The car was later acquired by Thomas Kibling in 2008 and purchased from him by the current owner in 2015. Under his custody, HD8 SU carburettors were fitted as a further upgrade.
The car’s history file contains not only numerous to chronicle these upgrades and modifications, but also numerous MoTs from throughout its life, and its original logbook. Needless to say, this is an exciting Mark 2 that would be more than capable of transporting a family of four in both speed and style on extended road trips.
