Engine Number 7J1686/8

Nicely restored, UK-supplied, matching-numbers 240 that has covered just over 45,000 miles.
The final development of the Mk2, the 240/340 range was introduced in September 1967 with the 240 still available until early 1969
Differences from the Mk2 were mainly cosmetic with reshaped rear bodywork, slimmer bumpers and Ambla upholstery
The 240 engine now had a straight-port cylinder head, twin HS6 SU carburettors and offered 133bhp at 5,500rpm and 100mph
Having been enjoyed by four previous keepers, this lovely example was purchased by our vendor in 2012 prior to commencing a sympathetic cosmetic restoration
Subject to a bare metal respray in its original Jaguar Beige (2014) and all brightwork re-chromed by A.C.F Howell (2014)
Re-veneered interior Walnut trim, refurbished original seats, new carpets, door cards etc. from Aldridge Trimming
Correct Dunlop cross-ply tyres on new wire wheels (refurbished originals included), new radiator and heater box
45,500 miles supported by extensive documentation including a photographic record of restoration, receipts/invoices for all work done, 21 MOTs from 1978, nine tax discs from 1986 and its Jaguar Heritage Certificate
Always garaged, driven only in dry/warm conditions and has been serviced and MOT'd each year. Current MOT valid until August 2023
