Ebay item 12/18/20

www.ebay.com/itm/1966-Jaguar-3-4-S-Saloon/203222242909

Classified ad price: $79,500 seller vantage1227, 71k miles, car now said to be in Huntington Station, New York, previously Boca Raton, FL in Pearl Grey.

Seller's description:

1966 JAGUAR 3.4 S SALOON: --Opalescent Silver-Grey with Dark Blue leather interior, Blue carpeting, 3.4 liter straight 6-cylinder engine, 4-Speed manual transmission, Restored, Wire wheels, Long-term ownership, Three-owners from new, Past concours winner. Launched in 1963, the 3.4 S saloon, also known as the “S-type” was a newer and more advanced Mark 2. While being sold alongside the Mark 2, the S type offered Jaguar buyers a more luxurious car without stepping up to the much larger Mark X saloon. This 3.4 S saloon was produced in March of 1966 and originally sold in Italy. It was then sold to its second owner in San Francisco. In February 1979, its third and previous owner purchased the car and used the Jag for wine tasting trips to Napa Valley as well as car events in the Bay area all through the 1980s. The Jag then accompanied their move to Long Island, NY in 1989. The S-Type was always well cared for and used for going to all local car shows. The 3.4 S was restored in December 2013 and continued to be shown at multiple concours events in New York and Florida. The Jag won Best in Class at the Boca Raton Concours in 2016 as well as Best in Class at the Winter Park, Florida concours. All body lines are excellent and shows no signs of any accidents or damage. The 3.4 S runs and drives well with a smooth ride. A recent road test attests to the car performing excellent in every way, and it is indeed ready for immediate use and enjoyment. This 3.4 S is complete with its original books, jack, wheel hammer, spare wheel and concours awards.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
