First registered in February 1966, this MkII 3.8 manual overdrive has been in the current owner's possession for the last 27 years. In 1990 it was treated to a full restoration including a thorough mechanical overhaul with all new suspension, brakes, wheel hubs etc. The engine was fully rebuilt at the same time with new pistons, reground crank, new timing chain and tensioners. A 4.2 cylinder head and larger 2-inch SU carbs were also fitted for enhanced performance.

Coombs-style cutaway spats were fitted to the rear and a louvred bonnet fitted for better cooling, though a standard bonnet for winter use is also included in the sale. The car has done very few miles since the restoration was completed and is said to drive very well indeed. It has just been fitted with five new tyres and the wire wheels have been relaced with stainless steel spokes. These 3.8 Jags are huge fun to own and can still more than hold their own in modern traffic. This one appears to have been well sorted and should have many more years of useful life ahead of it.
