Auction description:
Lot number 21
Hammer value N/S (est. No Reserve)
Description Jaguar 2.4 litre Mk 2
Registration 121 VBH
Year 1962
Chassis No. 110765DN

This 1962 model is fitted with the economical 2.4 litre six cylinder twin-cam engine and overdrive gearbox. The vendor has owned the car for some 15 years and the mileage of 70,000 is believed to be correct. A major rebuild was under taken by renowned Jaguar restorers Pheonix Restorations some years ago, including a very high quality repaint in old English white cellulose and very few miles have been covered since. This is a sound, reliable and economical car ready to be used every day, and it represents a great opportunity to own a Classic Jaguar at a fraction of the cost of its restoration. The car free to tax, and is offered with a fresh MOT.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
