The vendor states that this Jaguar Mk2 2.4 Manual with overdrive, has had two previous gentleman owners, most recent of which, has owned the car since 1965. Sadly the owner, who cherished the car, passed away in March this year and the family are now offering this car for sale.

It has a very comprehensive level of history which totals almost £30,000 spent since 2006 alone. The work undertaken includes extensive bodywork and a full respray in the original colour, which has been done to a very high standard. It has also been subject to regular mechanical maintenance and benefits from the recent installation of power steering. Benefiting from the fitment of wire wheels and Coombes style rear spats. The interior is original and looks fantastic. The original steering wheel is also included in the sale. The car has covered just over 80,000 miles.

Guide Price: £13000 to £14500

The phrase 'unique' is often over used in the classic car world we enjoy. However I am inclined to use it in the case of this car. Presented for sale for the first time since John Coombs personally handed over the keys to this cars one and only user in November 1961.

A time warp car presented with a most comprehensive history including the original service book, warranty and indeed 'RAC Running In' sticker. I personally love the John Coombs tax disc holder. I have never seen one before. I also love the complete tool kit. All original and in good order. 2 files of history in total come with this car and it all makes a fascinating read.

The period history is superb and valuable. However, the recent history details nearly £40k of structural and mechanical work to ensure this car presents in perfect structural and mechanical order. The underside of the car is literally faultless and perfect. Sitting on chrome wire wheels and with lovely chrome the car looks beautiful, purposeful and ready for that 4 up trip to Goodwood Revival.

The engine and drive train are excellent. Don't think the 2.4 litre engine is slow. It isn't and the car spirits you along to the speed limit plenty quick enough and cruises along at 80mph effortlessly with overdrive engaged

Inside the cabin the original radio works as does everything else. The suede green leather is patinated to perfection and the overall cabin feel is one of luxury and history. It's actually quite emotional sitting in a one driver car. You can sense the history and love cherished on this car and indeed the responsibility as the present custodian.

Now the car is ready to provide endless pleasure to a new custodian
