Ebay item 4/30/13
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-Mark-3-4-/290906312469
Current bid $2,125 reserve not met, 15 bids 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
This is a1958 Jaguar Mark I with the original number matching 3.4 engine. The engine runs good and it has good oil pressure. I have a clear "Original Utah Title" in my name. The original Borg Warner automatic transmission works properly and shifts as it should. The body is in excellent condition with no rust or dents. The color combination is not original and it is a new paint job. The interior has no rips or tears and is in good condition. Again, the interior is not an original color combination. All of the wood interior and dash is in place, but needs some work. The wood has some vanish peeling. This old Mark I was going through a restoration process when the owner became ill and couldn't complete the work. The Jaguar was removed from a body shop and some of the trim pieces were not installed. All of the trim pieces missing from the car are in the trunk. The Jaguar is missing the rear taillights, the air cleaner, and the spare tire. Other than these three missing parts, the car is complete. The reserve on the car is very low and well under the Jaguar's value.

I want to be sure the new owner knows exactly what they are getting. With this in mind, I will list the negative aspects of the car in detail. 1. The 3.4 engine, which is factory original to the car, runs good, but the fuel pump is weak and will not allow the engine to keep running. I have driven the car short distances, but it needs a new fuel pump and the lines cleaned.
2. The chrome on the bumpers, wire wheels, and grille is weak. It will clean up ok, but it is not good.
3. The wood interior is complete, but some of the varnish is peeling, and some of the wood is dry. It is serviceable, but not in real good condition.
4. The driver's side door handle will not open from the outside. The interior handle works good and all of the doors align properly, but the driver's side door will need attention.
5. Most of the rubber seals that go around the windshield and doors are dry and crumbling. The chrome trim that fits in the front and rear windshields is too dry to reinstall the windshield chrome trim. These pieces for both front and rear windshields is in the trunk.
6, The Jaguar is missing the spare tire, air cleaner, and the rear taillights.
I have been an antique car not for 50 years not a car dealer. I'm a retired teacher that has been a car nut since I was a kid.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
