This 1959 Jaguar Mk I is a left-hand-drive example finished in white over black vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 3.8-liter straight-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Features include dual SU carburetors, 15″ steel wheels with chrome hubcaps, side moldings, chrome bumpers, fender-mounted mirrors, a wooden dash, and interior lighting. The current owner is said to have acquired the car in 1984, and recent service included replacing the engine as well as resealing the transmission and the differential in 2020–2021. The car has not been driven on the street since the powertrain was overhauled. This running and driving Mark I project is registered as planned non-operation in California, and it is now offered by the seller on behalf of its owner with spare parts, third-party manuals, and a clean California title in the current owner’s name.
The body is finished in white and features a leaper hood ornament, fender-mounted mirrors, side moldings, and chrome bumpers with overriders. The seller notes that the car was repainted following body work in 1984 and clearcoat was applied in 1993.
White-finished 15″ steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and trim rings and are mounted with a mixed set of Michelin and BFGoodrich tires. Braking is provided by discs at all four corners that are said to have been refreshed during the mechanical refurbishment that took place in 2020 and 2021.
The interior features front bucket seats and a rear bench that are said to have been reupholstered in black vinyl that extends to the door panels. The headliner reportedly was retrimmed concurrent with the seats, and additional amenities include a wooden dash and door trim, an ashtray, a lockable glovebox, and interior lighting.
The four-spoke steering wheel is wrapped in an aftermarket cover and fronts a storage compartment. Center-mounted instrumentation consists of a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer with an inset clock, and gauges for fuel level, amperage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 21k miles, and true mileage is unknown.
The 3.8-liter inline-six was sourced from a later-model Jaguar and overhauled in 2020 and 2021. The KF prefix on the identification placard indicates that this car originally left the factory with a 3.4-liter six-cylinder engine under the hood.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The transmission and differential are said to have been resealed and the clutch replaced concurrent with the aforementioned engine replacement.
Spare parts and components as well as third-party periodicals and service manuals will accompany the vehicle. Records dating back to 1985 also are included.
