Current bid $3,650 reserve not met, 11 bids, 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
California rustfree survivors that has a very special pedigree. Other than dual exhaust and tasteful venting on the bonnet the car has a totally stock appearance that conceals its identity. It has been updated with a very potent contemporary V8 Chevrolet engine. No expense was spared in this super clean transformation that cost many thousands in the 1980’s. Silver-blue metallic exterior over navy interior with walnut accents. The interior has a fine patina that embodies gently aged old world quality. The walnut dash fascia and aviation style instrumentation gives a real period feel when driving. She accelerates very quickly and easily without hesitation and with a beautiful exhaust note. The transmission shifts smoothly and she handles with surefooted assurance. The temperature stays at a cool and healthy at 70-75 degrees Celsius. . It does have some modern amenities ac (rotary compressor) blaupunkt cd player with steering wheel control pod. The S type is superior to the Mark II because of it’s IRS* independent rear suspension, large rear window and cleaner body lines slim bumpers, streamlined front end including larger grill & covered rear wheel arches etc.
36,937 are presumed miles travelled since V8 installation. Rest assured Chevy is NO trouble at all! Until about 1990: 1965 and newer cars required smog inspection in the golden state. Although, she is a 1966; she was registered as 1959 model to avoid any previous emission testing.

She is absolutely gorgeous but not 100 point show car. She has been well looked after and garaged. She has been gently aged having a beautiful patina. Like a vintage wine. With the paint being at least 10 years old it is in surprisingly good shape. She does have some minor imperfections such as chips; door dings, limited fading, scratches and other tiny paint imperfections. The interior is in fine shape. The original walnut trim is not perfect but ok for age 41. The Mohair headliner hangs gracefully. The chrome appears to be factory triple plated that is in good condition for its years still shows well having only minor fading and tiny pit marks. Air Cond. may need service. This car is a fantastic California survivor that was awakened from a four year slumber and totally rust free.

Furthermore, it has plainly been registered under false details . It is highly llkely that significant legal difficulties lie ahead for the unfortunate buyer of this vehicle

ddavis, unfortunately, this site strictly goes by car number, so even though to all of us it's clearly NOT a Mark I, at some point, if the seller's reporting of chassis number is correct, it has been retitled as a Mark I.
(Of course, I've always been of a mind that the sort of folks who feel the need to install Chevy powerplants in Jaguars are the sort of folks who probably cannot tell any "funny furrin cars" apart. Sadly, probably the buyers of those cars, too.)
