VIN S 977840DN
This Jaguar MkI is an elegant sporting saloon, with an eye-catching red interior.
Power comes from a matching-numbers 3.4-litre ‘XK’ straight-six, producing around 113PS, paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive.
The car was imported to the Netherlands in 1976, and kept by its first Dutch owners (husband and wife) until 1995, when the husband passed away.
His widow stored the car, and later sold it to its second Dutch owner, who kept it as part of a wider collection for around 15 years, before passing it on to the seller due to health issues.
The odometer indicates 38,785 miles, though this is not warranted.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
This Mk1 is finished in black, over a red leather interior with matching carpets and elegant wood inlays.
It rides on black 15-inch wire wheels, wrapped with Avon tyres.
Equipment includes four-wheel disc brakes, Smiths dials, push-out front and rear quarter light windows, a four-spoke steering wheel, and a locking glovebox.
The 3.4-litre Mk1 has a larger front grille for better cooling, and a stronger rear axle.
Accompanying the vehicle will be its first Dutch registration document, and a Jaguar/Daimler Heritage Certificate.
CONDITION
Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition.
Specific notes from the seller include: the clutch is known to slip and needs to be replaced; the rear brakes are disconnected and the callipers and pads must be renewed.
The seller also notes that the car is in very original condition, has not been restored, and has not been reupholstered or repainted.
SERVICE HISTORY
The most recent service was completed in June 2024 at an indicated 38,750 miles, when The Classic Way replaced the fluids, exhaust, fuel tank, and fuel pump, and rebuilt the carburettors.
The seller notes that the water pump has been replaced, and the front brakes were renewed by the last owner.
