Lot #135097
This 1963 Jaguar MK II was refurbished in the late 2010s. Work included repainting the bodywork in silver and red and reupholstering the interior in red vinyl. The car is powered by a 3.8-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive, and it is equipped with 14″ wire wheels, dual carburetors, and fold-down rear seat tables. The seller acquired the car in 2023 and subsequently had the red portions repainted. This MK II is now offered with a California title in the seller’s name.
The bodywork was refinished in silver with red during the refurbishment, and the red portion was painted again under current ownership. Features include a Jaguar “leaper” hood ornament, dual fender mirrors, chrome bumpers, and polished twin exhaust tips. The seller states that the brake light switch was replaced and the taillights were rewired within the past four months. The windshield washer sprayers do not work.
Five-lug 14″ chrome wire wheels are mounted with 195/75 Goodyear Integrity whitewall tires manufactured in 2007. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes, and the master cylinder and shocks are said to have been replaced. There is corrosion on the wheels.
Cabin finishes include red vinyl upholstery, red carpets, and wood trim on the dashboard and doors. Equipment includes an AM radio, fold-down rear seat tables, and lap belts for all occupants. The shifter boot is cracked and needs replacement, and the seller notes that various interior bulbs do not work, areas of the carpet are faded, and corrosion is present in the trunk.
A 140-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer are mounted ahead of the driver, while gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are housed in the center of the dashboard. The clock does not work. The five-digit odometer indicates 53k miles, less than 1k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.8-liter inline-six is equipped with a pair of SU carburetors, and the radiator core, fuel pump, starter solenoid, and battery have been replaced since 2020. The oil was changed in October 2023. The coolant overflow tank is missing, and there is an oil leak.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive.

Ebay item 2/19/24
Opening bid $22,125 reserve not met, no bids yet, 6 days left in auction. Buy it now price $$29,500, seller westcoastclassics, car now in Torrance, California, 52k miles
Seller's description:
West Coast Classics are proud to present a rare example of this southern California 1963 Jaguar Mark II 3.8L Sports Sedan with an extremely desirable 4 speed manual transmission with factory overdrive!
DESIRABLE 3.8 LITER ENGINE, THE MOST POWERFUL AVAILABLE
4 SDP MANUAL WITH RARE FACTORY OVERDRIVE TRANSMISSION!
14" BOLT ON WIRE WHEELS
POWER STEERING
AM/FM RADIO
LAYCOCK DE NORMANVILLE FACTORY OVERDRIVE
MOTO-LITA STEERING WHEEL
REMOVABLE REAR FENDER SKIRTS
4-WHEEL DISC BRAKES
FOLD DOWN PICNIC TABLES
RACING INSPIRED HOOD LOUVERS
LUCAS FOG LIGHTS
EXQUISITE COLOR COMBINATION!
DRIVES AND PERFORMS BRILLIANTLY!
This particular model was fitted with rare factory options including the very desirable 4 speed manual transmission with Overdrive, power steering, fog lights, radio and wheels and the car still has its original spare wheel and jack in the trunk. The interior of the Mark II boasted bucket seats in front with traditional English fold-down tea trays in their rears. The fascia was neatly arranged with instrumentation right in front of the driver with a row of secondary gauges and toggle switches lined up impressively in the leather grained center of the dash and the 4 speed manual transmission was installed on the center console.
The car has reportedly always been garaged and rare for any cars of this vintage has no signs of any accidents with a striking 'Red & Silver' two-tone color paint with a very nicely reupholstered matching 'Red' color vinyl interior with the burled walnut interior showing extremely well - not a show ready example but a very presentable and solid daily driver!
The car drives very well, and extremely rare for one of these cars with the Moss manual gearbox correctly selecting all the gears, including reverse & overdrive, which as any enthusiast will confirm is a lottery in most unrestored or original Moss transmissions, which generally need a sympathetic and experienced hand to avoid wrong slotting! There is no noise from the rear axle or rear end and there are no signs of any smoke.
