Sellers description:
This 1962 Jaguar MkII sedan (chassis J62P219361BW) has been owned by the current seller for 38 years. The car was purchased in 1974 to be driven by his wife as her daily driver in Southern California. In 1978, it was placed into dry storage where it remained until 1988 when a restoration and modification began. This process took two years and evolved into the machine you see today, including a modified GM 4.3L V6 with T5 manual transmission and air conditioning. He now says that 20 years of driving experience after the engine conversion has confirmed his decision to make the change... this car is fun to drive. It is available in Yreka, California for $19,500.

A bare metal re-spray (in black lacquer) revealed "no" rust and a very solid straight car at the time of restoration according to the seller. This paint job is still quite presentable considering the age, he says. We love that even though it was built for the wife, a manual transmission was installed. These are car people!

Comfort and Cosmetics:
• In-dash air conditioning
• Fully adjustable front seats
• Modern retractable restraints
• All wood trim and dash is original
• Most upholstery is original

• HD front springs/shock/swaybar
• Limited slip diff.
• Power rack and pinion steering
• 4-wheel power disc brakes
• Brackets and tow bar for dingy service (seller's words!)
• 500 miles on engine and trans rebuild

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
