Ebay item 1/12/25
www.ebay.com/itm/226539630378
Opening bid $9,950, no bids, 6 days left in auction, seller Albion British Spares
Seller's description:
This is, without doubt, the straightest, cleanest, most rust-free Mark 2 Jaguar project we have ever encountered. This is an original California car, never wrecked or bent, never driven in snow or salt, and stored indoors since coming to Massachusetts in 1968. At that time, the previous owner stripped the paint and sent it to a perfectionist body shop in Boston, a shop that did not use any body filler of any type, for paint preparation. The car was prepared, primed, block sanded, and made ready for a final coat of primer and paint. Most of the chrome was removed at that time.
The previous owner, a professional who had extensive experience in converting old Jaguars to American power units, set the car up for a Pontiac 6-cylinder overhead cam engine and Muncie 4-speed transmission. Once this powertrain was installed, he drove the car a few miles and then brought it into his shop for finishing, but life got in the way, and there it sat for fifty years until we bought it.
The Pontiac engine has now been removed but we offer this superb rust-free car with a complete original (but very rusty!) 1961 3.8 Jaguar Mark 2 parts car, which has its original engine and desirable 4-speed manual gearbox with overdrive. This parts car is complete, with all lights, interior, suspension, brakes, electricals, glass, chrome, all the parts needed to make one car from the two. The engine of the parts car is in unknown condition, and it does not turn by hand, so a rebuild will be necessary. It does have a pair of rare and very desirable reclining seats, which will require new upholstery. We can supply a new leather seat kit, carpets, new chrome and new mechanical parts to complete the restoration for extra cost.
You will never find another Mark 2 project this clean. And you will spend far more than the price of this one in restoring a rusty or battered one.
