Lot #150712

This 1963 Jaguar Mk II is said to have been purchased new by the current owner’s father-in-law, and ownership was transferred to the current owner in 1972. The car was parked around 1975 after sustaining damage to the exhaust system, and it has not been started in more than 40 years. A 3.8-liter inline-six is linked to a three-speed automatic transmission, and the car is finished in white over black leather upholstery. Equipment includes four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ steel wheels, dual SU carburetors, front bucket seats, and wood interior trim. This non-running Jaguar sedan project is now offered at no reserve in Maryland by the seller on behalf of the owner with removed and spare parts, service records, a workshop manual, a tool kit, and a clean Virginia title.

The car is finished in white, and exterior equipment includes a pop-up cowl vent, chrome wraparound bumpers, and a chrome grille, window surrounds, trim, and dual exhaust outlets. Failed paint, corrosion, and other imperfections are pictured in the gallery below. A hood is included in the sale but not fitted to the car. The tabs on the license plates and an inspection sticker indicate that the vehicle was last licensed for use on public roads in 1976.

The cockpit features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black leather upholstery along with color-coordinated door panels. Burl walnut veneers adorn the dashboard, door caps, and window frames. The seat surfaces have deteriorated, the dashboard is damaged, and other issues are shown visible.

The two-spoke steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, and centrally positioned auxiliary gauges for water temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 47k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.

The 3.8-liter XK inline-six was factory rated at 220 horsepower and 237 lb-ft of torque. The dual SU carburetors are said to have been rebuilt about 40 years ago, and the engine has not run in approximately that same amount of time.

A three-speed automatic transmission is connected to a limited-slip differential. Corrosion is evident on underbody components.

Hubcaps, an engine-rebuilt kit, weatherstripping, a hood, and other spare and removed parts will accompany the vehicle.
