I owned this car from about 1986 until 2000 (Golden, Colorado). I bought it at a Barrett Jackson auction in Scottsdale for $5500. Sold it to a guy in the Seattle area for about $7500. I did a lot of work on the front end (steering, suspension, springs etc). When sold it had a slight rod knock at full throttle. I put very few miles on the car. When sold it had about 92000 miles on it to the best of my recollection. It leaked oil and transmission fluid like a demon. I guess that was pretty standard for British cars that were not maintained on a regular basis. It was a great cruising car - always got lots of looks and smiles when I took it out for a drive. From what I can tell from the most recent pictures - the carpets have been changed to a different then original color. They were a beige color instead of red. I left a socket set in the car glove box by mistake when I sold it, if anyone comes up with that I would like it back (1/4" SK)!!!

As an aside, when I was a pedestrian I was hit by a car crossing the street in Boulder Colorado in Dec of 1985 and received an insurance settlement of $7500. This car was a gift to myself for the pain I went through after several months of recouperation.

I owned this great car from 2000 to about 2008. I continued the work done by George in CO, finishing the details and putting in a 3.4 engine as the original 3.8 had a rod knock. I replaced the carpets and refinished the dash, windshield side wood, and door post wood, and re-sealed the transmission, as well as attended to several detail points like wiper motor rebuild and air cleaner refinishing, jack, tyre hold-down, headlight spears and chrome bits. I successfully rented the car out for weddings in the Portland area for a couple of years.

Sellers description:
1963 Jaguar MK II 3.8
Flagship Automobile for Jaguar
Dry Texas Car
Gorgeous Red Paint
XK 3.8L 6 Cylinder Engine
Automatic Transmission
4-Wheel Disc Brakes

MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present the highly sought after 1963 Jaguar Mark II 3.8. From the dry state of Texas and an exceptional example of Jaguar's Mark II sedan. This car epitomizes the Jaguar standard of "Grace, Space and Pace." This car still looks impressive to this day! This is the same legendary 3.8 power plant that set the XKE or E-Type to legendary fame.

The gorgeous red paintwork highlights the classic design of this "Big Cat." The paint is in excellent condition, showing only very minor imperfections. The chrome trim is in great condition with no dents or major scratches while maintaining a beautiful shine. It is obvious that this Jaguar has been wonderfully maintained, preserved and stored over the years as it shows exceptionally well!

Inside, the interior is in wonderful condition. The seats are wrapped in beige leatherette which looks great, showing no major signs of imperfection to be found. The door panels have also been finished with the same material that looks great. The door panels are accented by wood veneer panels that really look great. The carpet and headliner are also in great condition. The dashboard is finished the same wood veneer that is on the door panels and it looks spectacular. The dash shows no signs of cracking or fading. The dash houses a set of original Smith's gauges as well as an AM/FM/Cassette stereo that look great. It should be noted that the horn is currently inoperable. The center console is finished in the same material as the seats and does show some signs of wear but still shows well.

Under the hood, you will find a true XK 3.8L, 6 cylinder engine attached to an automatic transmission. Power steering combined with the tried and true XK 3.8 liter engine guide the car along at highway speeds in consummate luxury. The Jag sits upon a set of 15" chrome wire wheels wrapped in 195/65R15 tires, which look great!

This Jaguar Mark II would make a beautiful addition to any European collection or as a Sunday driver. The car is sure to attract attention anywhere you may take it! The VIN is P217531BW and the mileage currently shows 00,109. It is being sold on a clean and clear, mileage exempt Texas title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
