Ebay item 4/7/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1960-Jaguar-Mark-II-Saloon-Completely-restored-/22076566 ...
Current bid $2,550.05 reserve not met, 2 bids 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1960 Jaguar Mark II Saloon Sedan. This is a bueatifully restored car, that is in show room condition. The Jaguar has all original parts, but does have a cd player and an upgraded cooling fan for those warmer days. The Jaguar Mark II saloons were as much at home on the racing circuit as they were on country roads. The engine was the race-tested Jaguar twin overhead cam, twin carbureted 3.8-liter engine that produced 220 horsepower.

Car to be at auction 8/12

Auction description:

Motorcars
Auction 20322
492
1960 Jaguar Mk II 3.8-liter Sports Saloon
Chassis no. P212240BW
Engine no. LA4107-8
The 1962 Mk II, as presented here, was powered by a 220-hp DOHC 3.8-liter inline six of the type also used in that era's Jaguar XKE, albeit with dual SU carburetors in place of the tri-carbs used on the sports car model. With its excellent power-to-weight ratio, the Mark II was a genuine high-performance sports sedan. Testers recorded 0-60 mph times of 8.5 seconds and the top speed was near 125 mph. Little wonder, the Mark II 3.8-liter was soon known as "the business man's express."

All Mark II saloons were well appointed in the grand European touring tradition. The sumptuous interior of the offered car is trimmed in red leather and its wood instrument board and door trim well represent the traditional accoutrements of fine British motorcars. There are even fold-down trays for the rear passengers. The US port-of-entry price was around $4700--about the cost of a new Buick Electra at the time.

Numerous improvements helped the Mark II 3.8-liter dominate sedan racing both in Great Britain and on the Continent. Virtually every well-known British racing driver of the era scored victories in a Mark II 3.8. It wasn't until 1963 that an American Ford Galaxie, packing a 6.9-liter V8 built for racing, finally broke Jaguar's decade-long hold on the British Saloon Car Championship.

Fitted with an automatic gearbox, this 3.8-liter Mark II was restored in 2000, with the engine rebuilt and the transmission upgraded to a BW65 unit. Further restoration work was carried out in 2010-2012 and the car presents very well throughout. The Jaguar was shown at a number of events in 2011, winning the JCNA Class in 2011 and was also shown at the Palo Alto Concours d'Elegance. Always garaged and complete with a JDHT Certificate confirming it as an original California delivery car, the Mark II is finished in cream with matching biscuit leather upholstery.
Estimate:
US$ 40,000 - 50,000
£25,000 - 32,000
€32,000 - 41,000
