This 1960 Jaguar Mk II was acquired by the current owner in 1975 and is finished in silver over red leather upholstery. The car is said to have been in the care of the current owner’s father for several years and spent time in storage before being brought back to driving condition in April 2022. Power is provided by a 3.8-liter inline-six mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. Additional equipment includes dual SU carburetors, chrome-finished 15” wire-spoke wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, rear picnic tables, and a cassette radio. This Mark II is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner at no reserve with spare parts, service records, manufacturer’s literature, and a clean Oregon title.
The car is finished in silver and features chrome bumpers with overriders, a Leaper hood ornament, removable rear fender skirts, and a driver-side mirror. The seller notes the paint is faded, and rust on the right quarter panel.
Chrome-finished 15″ wire-spoke wheels with two-eared knock-offs are wrapped in 185R15 Coker classic redline tires. Braking is handled by four wheel discs and the fluid is said to have been changed earlier in 2022.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench that have been re-upholstered in red leather along with a wood dashboard and trim on the pillars and tops of the door panels. Amenities include a Pioneer cassette radio, rear picnic trays, and front lap belts. According to the seller, the interior lighting is partially inoperable, the carpets are worn, the door panels are misaligned, and the visors are stuck in position.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline. Auxiliary gauges mounted centrally on the dashboard display water temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 5k miles, though true mileage is unknown.
A replacement 3.8-liter inline-six was installed and the camshaft, connecting rod, and crankshaft main bearings were replaced in 1996. The engine is equipped with dual SU carburetors and a dual exhaust system. Work performed in 2022 is reported to have included a fuel system flush and replacement of the spark plugs.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a three-speed Borg Warner automatic transmission that was reportedly rebuilt in the early 1990s. A transmission fluid leak is present. Chassis number P21196BW, the VIN on the title lists an “R” in place of the “P”
