Ebay item 1/24/09
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $12,456.78 reserve not met, 8 bids 5 days left in auction. Buy it now price $37,500.
Sellers description:
1960 Jaguar MK 2 sedan. It has the desired 3.8 liter dual overhead cam engine coupled to a Borg Warner DG 250 3 speed automatic transmission. The car is as it should be and has only one modification from new. That is a Pertronix solid state ignition for reliability and driving pleasure. All of the old ignition parts are in a box and available for the new owner. It is stunning in its Claret paint with oatmeal interior.
This is an older restoration well cared for with what appears to be only 28,000 miles since 1983. (Photo records of restoration are available.) Full restoration, regular maintenance, garaged kept and necessary repairs and replacements are the reason this MK 2 looks the way it does today, 49 years after it rolled out of the factory. The car was restored in 1983 by Lee and Judy Eggers of Eugene, Oregon. According to the records I have, it went on to take 1st place in Champion Division nationally in JCNA for its class. It was also a 1st place winner in its class at the famous Vintage Car Show at the Pacific University Campus in Forest Grove, Oregon. The MK 2 was later sold to Jerry Liudahl, owner of Old Irish Racing in Eugene, Oregon. Jerry drove it and used it as a family car until selling it to Clifford Price in Atlanta, GA. Mr. Price took great care of the car spending many dollars keeping it in show condition and showing it at JCNA sanctioned events. Mr. Price also loaned this MK 2, by request of the Sebring Race Museum, to be displayed in their Gallery of Legends tent at the Sebring 12 Hour in March 2005. Approximately 10 years later he sold it to The Great Gatsby, in Atlanta, GA. where my wife and I acquired this beauty in June of 2007. We had it shipped to our home in Marvin, NC. We have shown it at Euro Auto Festival the past 2 years and taken 1st place (in class) in the people choice award each year. WE have not trailer the car, but have enjoyed driving it to events in South Carolina and North Carolina. It drives well and has always been reliable.
