This 1960 Jaguar Mk II is a left-hand drive example that was acquired by the seller in Virginia in 1993. The car is equipped with a 3.8-liter inline-six paired with a Borg Warner three-speed automatic transmission and wears aged silver paint over red leather upholstery. Features include chrome bumpers, crank windows, and 15” knock-off wire wheels. The brakes were serviced and the transmission linkage adjusted in August 2021. This Mk II is being offered as a running project at no reserve with a tool kit, spare parts, and a clean Virginia title in the seller’s name.
Said to have been previously finished in black, the car was repainted its current shade of gray some time during previous ownership. A spat panel is fitted on the driver-side rear fender, and bodywork has been performed on the driver-side front fender due to prior accident damage. The paintwork and brightwork have faded, primer is visible on the trunk lid and lower body, and rust-through is evident on the driver-side rear door. Close-up photos of the body are provided in the gallery, along with images of the front fender prior to the application of primer. A spare door will accompany the vehicle.
The 15” wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-off spinners and mounted with older tires. A full-size spare is included in the sale. The seller notes that the brakes have been recently serviced and the master cylinder has been replaced.
The cabin features deteriorating red leather-upholstered seats with matching door panels and carpets that have been partially removed. The car is equipped with a radio, a center console, toggle switches for vehicle functions, and woodgrain trim on the dash and door panels.
A two-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 140-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 85k miles, though total mileage is unknown.
The 3.8-liter inline-six is paired with a Borg Warner three-speed automatic transmission, both of which are said to have been rebuilt around 1994. The transmission linkage was adjusted and the oil pan gasket has been recently replaced. A crack is noted in the exhaust flex pipe.
The seller notes that the jack points have been replaced, and patch panels have been added to the floors and frame rails.
